Nursery to Grade 12

The schools Meadows West families use

Both elementary schools are Winnipeg School Division. High school is a catchment answer, not a guess I will print as fact. Check the address — I do the same thing with buyers.

Home of the Wildcats

Meadows West School

  • 150 Inkster Garden Drive
  • Winnipeg, R2R 2R8
  • (204) 694-6755

Nursery to Grade 8, in the division's north district. Nursery and kindergarten have run as half-day programs. The school's handbook describes the catchment as north of Inkster Boulevard, south of Mollard Road, east to the CPR tracks, and west toward King Edward.

Winnipeg School Division lists a Filipino bilingual program here from Kindergarten to Grade 4, alongside the English program. The building is the weekday centre of Meadows West: patrols, sports, and the parent association's lunch program.

Students leaving Grade 8 have commonly continued to École Secondaire Sisler High, with Tec Voc High School as the division's vocational option. That is history and habit, not a promise. Confirm the current catchment.

Go Foxes

École Waterford Springs School

  • 2090 Jefferson Avenue
  • Winnipeg, R2R 3A3
  • (204) 694-9690

Nursery to Grade 8, dual track: English and French Immersion. The building went up in 2019–2020 and opened on January 4, 2021, because Waterford Green and Castlebury Meadows grew faster than the schools that used to cover this edge of the city.

The division's own community report described a school of roughly 800 students in its early years, with French offered to English-program students as well. It is full enough that Schools of Choice applications are often closed.

Castlebury Meadows has no school inside its own borders. This is the one. Waterford Green families are in the same building.

Grades 9 to 12

Senior years, without the fairy tale

École Secondaire Sisler High School is the Winnipeg School Division high school to ask about first for this northwest pocket. Maples Collegiate is close on a map and belongs to Seven Oaks School Division. Close is not catchment. A street can change the answer.

Tec Voc is a division-wide vocational high school, not the default English school for the bay you live on. Late French Immersion and other programs exist across the division and have their own deadlines.

Look the address up in the division's Find a School app before you count on a school. Catchment is set by the street, and the wrong one is a hard surprise.

Meadows West Parents Association

Meadows West Parent Association

The families' group at the school.

The Meadows West Parent Association is the parent group at Meadows West School — meetings, the lunch program, hot-dog days, movie nights, the unglamorous things that make a school feel owned by its families. I am a member because I live here and because the school matters in Meadows West.

They also put on the community barbecue at the school, to bring the families together. The school's 2025–26 community report lists it as the third annual.

Parents can write the association at mark@markkogan.com. That address has been the public one in school news for years.
